All You Need to Know about Fake crypto bot scammer allegedly

InvestorCrypto.net - Robert Robb is accused of swindling numerous cryptocurrency investors out of $1.5 million by promising them a groundbreaking crypto trading bot that never materialized.

According to court documents seen by 404 Media and CourtWatch, Robb allegedly sent a message to a Telegram group boasting, "Poof, YOU'RE A MILLIONAIRE," alongside an image of a purple fairy donning a mushroom cap.

In the message, he urged recipients to invest in $RAT and NoRugz cryptocurrencies using his MEV bot, which he claimed would lead to immense wealth.

Despite collecting funds from investors on various social media platforms, including Telegram, Robb failed to deliver the promised trading bot and ignored requests for refunds, citing a myriad of excuses for the delay.

The proposed MEV bot was said to leverage blockchain networks to identify profitable trading opportunities automatically.

However, there is no evidence to support the efficacy of such technology over an extended period. Unfortunately, the allure of lucrative returns has not deterred crypto scammers from promoting fake bots across platforms like YouTube and X, making unrealistic promises of significant investment gains.

Robb frequently boasted about his MEV bot project on platforms such as X and Friend.Tech, touting substantial returns to potential investors.

The FBI alleges that between March and April 2023, Robb duped investors into parting with $1.5 million, diverting most of the funds into his personal bank accounts. Financial scrutiny revealed lavish spending on luxuries like a lease at the Denver Broncos Mile High Stadium, a luxury Jeep, and a Bahamas resort stay.

The 46-year-old's arrest in Las Vegas in March, as confirmed by Henderson Police records shared by crypto enthusiast ZachXBT, marked the downfall of pokerbrat2019.

Robb, who styled himself as an MEV engineer and had warned followers about crypto scams in the past, has fallen silent since his arrest.

His final post on social media hinted at an upcoming Solana bot but also criticized followers for being too predictable.

Despite claiming to be a victim of extortion, Robb's actions paint a starkly different picture, with authorities alleging that he exploited investors for personal gain.

In light of this elaborate scheme, it serves as a cautionary tale for the cryptocurrency community to remain vigilant against potential scams and false promises circulating in the digital asset space. As investigations into Robb's activities continue, it underscores the importance of due diligence and skepticism when considering investment opportunities in the volatile world of cryptocurrencies.
